At X Learning, our mission is to nurture curious, capable, emotionally intelligent young people who are prepared to lead lives of purpose. We do this by creating a learner-led environment rooted in real-world experience, deep connection, and enduring human skills that last a lifetime.
Who We Are
X Learning was founded by a passionate group of educators, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who came together with one shared mission: to build a future-ready learning environment that supports the whole child. With diverse backgrounds in teaching, neuroscience, business, creative industries, and youth development, our founders saw an opportunity to create a school that didn’t just follow trends—but led with intention.
Rooted in Calgary, X Learning was designed from the ground up to reimagine what education could look like in a rapidly changing world. Our founders knew that children need more than just academic success—they need emotional intelligence, confidence, creativity, and resilience. That’s why X Learning combines a range of progressive programs under one roof, including the learner-driven Acton Academy Calgary West, which provides academic rigour through a self-paced, goal-oriented model.
Together, our team facilitates an enriched experience for learners and their families—making it simple for parents to access a modern, flexible approach to education without having to piece it together themselves. From core academics and hands-on exploration to outdoor learning, community partnerships, and emotional growth, we’re here to support your child’s journey—every step of the way.

Our Story
X Learning was inspired out of a desire to reimagine what school could be. Founded with a vision to support the full development of a child—emotionally, socially, and intellectually—X School was born. Since then, we've grown to focus on nurturing emotional intelligence, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
In discovering the Acton Academy model, our founders saw an opportunity to bring a powerful framework into their broader educational vision. Today, our first 'X School', Acton Academy Calgary West, operates as one of the many offerings within the X Learning ecosystem, helping provide academic rigour and learner-driven structure to an already rich and dynamic learning experience.
X Learning is not just a school or an ecosystem—it’s a movement. One that honours the whole child and believes that learning is most powerful when it’s led from within. Supported by meaningful partnerships with organizations like Telus Spark, WinSport, and Calgary Climbing Centre, X Learning empowers children to grow beyond the boundaries of traditional classrooms and thrive in every sense of the word.
