X Learning.Life is a modern learning ecosystem dedicated to redefining what education looks like in a world shaped by technology and change.
Our learner-led approach blends the best of various programs, Montessori foundations, and real-world practices to prepare each child for life—not just for tests.
Through X Learning.Life, we support the development of every learner’s potential across four pathways:
Learning That Builds Confidence, Purpose, and Lifelong Capability
X Learning Ecosystem

X Learning Ecosystem
X Schools
Our core K–12 learner-led programs blend modern education with human development. At X Schools, learning is guided by our proprietary X Neuro Program, a neuroscience-based framework that integrates Montessori-inspired learning, real-world projects, and learner-centered approaches. X Neuro tracks growth across cognitive, emotional, and social domains through five key competencies, helping guides understand not just what learners know, but how they think, feel, and connect—cultivating mastery, curiosity, and leadership along the way.
Families interested in full-time programming can explore Acton Academy Calgary West, hosted on-site as a core partner of X Schools.
X Clubs
X Clubs are extensions of our learner-led philosophy, offering space for curiosity to flourish beyond the core program. Designed and often led by learners themselves, these clubs explore interests like sports, physical activity, music, science, robotics, art, entrepreneurship, and social impact. Each experience nurtures leadership, collaboration, and creative problem-solving—bridging passions with purpose in a supportive environment.
X Community
X Community connects families, guides, and learners in a shared journey of growth and discovery. Through regular events, parent learning sessions, and collaborative projects, we strengthen the relationships that make our ecosystem thrive. This collective model ensures that learning extends beyond the classroom—into homes, neighbourhoods, and the wider world—fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose.
X Beyond
X Beyond prepares learners for life after school by translating their skills, passions, and projects into real-world impact. From mentorships and internships to entrepreneurship incubators and global collaborations, X Beyond bridges the gap between learning and doing. The result is confident, capable individuals ready to contribute meaningfully—locally and globally—while continuing their journey of lifelong learning.

At X Learning, we don’t measure success with grades or tests. Instead, we focus on mastery, growth, and agency. Learners set personal goals, track their progress, and receive meaningful feedback from their guides and peers. Everyone advances when they’re ready—not when a calendar says they should, and all egos gets managed with our proprietary program X Neuro.
This mastery-based model builds accountability, confidence, and deep engagement—qualities that will serve them long after school is done.
X Learning serves as a hub for a wide variety of enrichment opportunities. Through community partnerships and specialized offerings—including Acton Academy Calgary West, before- and after-school care, and a diverse selection of X-Clubs—families can tailor their child’s experience to reflect their interests, strengths, and passions. Each offering is designed to nurture our five core-competencies and foster whole-child development.

A New Kind of Progress
X Neuro: The Science of Human Potential
Learning is guided by X Neuro — a neuroscience-informed framework developed by X Learning.Life to make human growth visible, measurable, and meaningful. Grounded in research on how the brain learns, adapts, and thrives, X Neuro bridges cognitive development with emotional intelligence, helping every learner understand themselves from the inside out.
At the heart of X Neuro is the X Competency Continuum, an internal system designed to assess each learner’s growth across cognitive, emotional, and social domains. This continuum translates the five X Neuro competencies into observable stages of development, allowing guides to understand not just what learners know, but how they think, feel, and connect.
Progress is tracked across five distinct phases:
Through this process, guides use daily observation, reflection, and evidence-based assessment to capture a full picture of learner development.
The data collected informs personalized support, goal setting, and communication with families — creating a shared language of growth between home and school.

Outdoor/Forest Learning Days
Our Forest Learning days immerse children in nature-based education. Guided by skilled facilitators, learners develop resilience, creativity, and ecological literacy while exploring the outdoors. This component fosters physical well-being and a deep connection to the natural world—complementing our holistic, child-centred approach.
STEAM-ED
STEAM-ED enrichment sessions spark curiosity and creativity across science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Through hands-on experimentation, design challenges, and inquiry-based projects, children expand their thinking agility and confidence as problem-solvers and innovators.
We offer three levels of STEAM-ED programming tailored by age and ability:
-
STEAM X-Club I (Introductory): For ages 5–8, introducing core STEAM concepts through fun, playful exploration.
-
STEAM X-Club II (Mechanics): For ages 8–12, focusing on mechanical systems, design, and problem-solving.
-
STEAM X-Club III (Robotics): For ages 10–15, diving into robotics, programming, and engineering innovation.
Drone Hire Fliers X-Club
In collaboration with the Calgary Airport Authority, this club introduces learners of all ages to the exciting world of drone technology. Participants gain hands-on experience in flight safety, piloting techniques, aerial photography, and navigation—both on-campus and through off-site excursions. Along the way, learners build technical skills, spatial awareness, and confidence while exploring how drones are used in real-world industries and innovation.
Rocky Mountain Climbing X-Club
Offered in partnership with Calgary Climbing Centre Rocky Mountain, this club invites learners of all ages to discover the joys and challenges of climbing. Participants develop confidence, strength, agility, and focus as they navigate ClimbPark routes and bouldering challenges designed for all levels. Climbing also provides opportunities for teamwork, perseverance, and personal goal-setting, helping learners test their limits in a safe, supportive environment.
Drama & Theatre X-Club
Drama & Theatre X-Club encourages learners to express themselves creatively while building essential communication, collaboration, and performance skills. Through workshops, improvisation, script reading, and stagecraft, participants explore all aspects of theatre arts. Learners also have opportunities to attend or participate in local productions—including Calgary’s vibrant theatre scene—deepening their appreciation for storytelling and culture while building confidence on and off stage.

A Day in the Life
What does a typical day at X Learning look like? It changes—because no two learners are exactly the same. But it can include:
Each day at X School begins with calm, intention, and connection. Early arrivals are welcomed into an environment designed to gently prepare them for the day—whether that means journaling, light movement, setting personal learning goals, or connecting with guides and peers. These moments help learners enter the day grounded, focused, and emotionally ready to grow.
The morning is dedicated to deep thinking and academic exploration. Learners engage in Socratic discussions where they ask questions, challenge assumptions, and explore meaningful ideas together. From there, they transition into independent or small-group learning time, focused on literacy, numeracy, and other core skill development—guided by personal learning goals, not grade levels. Emotional regulation and coaching are embedded throughout, helping learners grow in both knowledge and self-awareness.
Afternoons are when learning truly comes alive. Learners dive into Quests—multidisciplinary, project-based experiences that challenge them to solve problems, design solutions, and collaborate with peers. Depending on the day and program your learner is enrolled in, afternoons may include Forest & Outdoor School on Wednesdays and/or STEAM-ED Thursdays, where learners are taken out on x-cursions to enrich their journey . These hands-on experiences expand academic learning into the real world, sparking curiosity and deepening understanding.
After formal programming ends, learners can continue to grow through optional after-school enrichment opportunities. This time supports creative expression, physical movement, social connection, and personalized pursuits. Whether participating in guided group challenges, engaging in free play, or simply reflecting on the day, learners end their time at X School with a sense of agency, connection, and purpose.
